Each gift goes straight into the recipient’s own Stripe account, and Stripe pays it out to their bank. Mishtatef never holds it.
Chipping in
4%–10%
Processing & service, added on top of the gift: 10% of the first $50, less on larger gifts, never under $2. Texts and calls cost nothing.
Where the difference goes
Your total is the gift plus a processing & service fee, added on top. The gift is charged straight into the Stripe account of whoever receives for the Event. Stripe takes its card processing fee from that account, and our fee is reduced by Stripe's standard card fee to match, so a gift paid with a standard US card arrives whole. A card issued outside the US can cost more to process, and that extra comes out of what the recipient receives. Stripe also keeps its processing fee when a gift is refunded. You can see the exact split on every payment: at checkout under “View breakdown” and in your payment history.

There is zero setup: no app to download, no browser needed, and no passwords to remember. When you create an Event, members receive a simple text, a link, or a phone call. They give by card: online, by replying "YES" from any phone, or by pressing a key on the keypad.
Real payments, by card. Each gift is charged straight into the Stripe account of whoever receives for the Event (the organizer, unless they name somebody else), and Stripe pays it out to that person's bank. Mishtatef never holds the money. Somebody holding cash for a relative can give it for them by card, under that relative's name.

Never. Surprise Mode is built directly into our servers. When you open a surprise Event, the honoree is completely excluded from all text blasts, emails, and reminders. Even if someone forwards them the link, it shows as a "Not Found" page.
Yes. Add her with her number, and because a landline cannot receive a text she is telephoned instead: the call says who added her and to what, and she joins by pressing a key. From then on she can call (810) 670-8080 any time — a spoken menu reads out her account, what is waiting on her, and lets her give, open an Event or hear the invite code, all on the keypad. Nothing about her account needs a screen.
Yes. Message (810) 670-8080 on WhatsApp and the same assistant answers there: open a Circle, chip in, ask who has answered, all in the chat. Once you have written to us there, requests and receipts reach you on WhatsApp too, as messages WhatsApp has approved in advance; send an ordinary text and they move back to SMS. Everything you say to us, we answer where you said it.
Creating a Circle and opening Events are free, with no subscription. When a gift is charged, a processing & service fee is added on top of it, never taken out of it: a $36 gift is charged $40. The gift goes to whoever receives for the Event, into their own Stripe account.
Yes. You can add co-organizers to your Circle. Any of them can open Events, send the requests, remind whoever has not answered, and see who gave on the ledger.
While you can set a suggested share (e.g. $50), members can easily text or type any custom amount (e.g. $25, $36) or quietly pass. Amounts are private to the organizer.
It is already in the Stripe account of whoever received for the Event. They can give it back to everybody from there, to the cards that paid, in proportion to each gift. Stripe keeps its own processing fee on a refund.
All transactions are encrypted and processed through regulated banking partners (Stripe). We never store bank passwords or card numbers. Phone numbers and emails are used exclusively for Circle alerts.
